Should one inform one's insurance company that points have expired during the middle of a policy, even if it is 3 points?

    Does it make a difference?

If they loaded you at you at your last renewal, you may have a case for a partial rebate now that the points have expired. But good luck getting a refund!

Was there a line in your last renewal indicating a loading for those points? Some companies are prepared to overlook up to 4 points, it all depends on who you're insured with.

Provided they already know about those points, I'd tell them they have expired. At the very least it will hopefully mean they won't factor them in at your next renewal.
