    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a wiring diagram for the fuse box of a 1992 same explorer 90 turbo tractor please and thank you.

I purchased the manual online but its not specific to the year or model and I have completed nearly everything bar the fuse box in the cab. A previous owner at some point mixed up some of the circuits as discovered when it was to late.

I photographed everything before I dismantled it. When I was reassembling the unit according to the photos I discovered that wipers were mixed with lights etc and the reason why nothing was working as it should have.

Would greatly appreciate any help as I would love to complete the part restoration

    Many thanks

That is a tough one. Have you tried contacting SDF directly? Not sure a main dealer here would be helpful.

Do you know if they were printed anywhere on the tractor as a sticker/decal?

Maybe, if you don't get a response on here you could try this website as you might have more same men there.

Good luck with the restoration. They are a super tractor.

I think @FintanMcluskey said he worked with SDF.

    Thank you funked monkey

It's just the fuse box that has me bet

The rest of the wiring is original and in good shape.

Like I said a previous owner mixed up the wires and some of them instead of running them through the fuse box and I am absolutely spending hours every night testing and trying different combination to figure out which wire does what.

    Appreciate the info

Do you have the glass cover for the fuse box - I thought it tells you what is what?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 little dandy

Unfortunately not and I tried john conahy part sales today who said I may look for a second hand one somewhere

The glass cover only tells you the instruments but not the wire colours

The wires labeled in the picture are the ones I figured out by connecting the live wire one at a time and trying the different functions like wipers lights etc

Does this help? Battery ran low so I couldn't use the flash any more and it was getting dark.

I could clean the wire sheaths and take again if they help you.

Glad to help, if it does. If you need any further photos let me know.

You can throw up a pic when you have it done.

Not for long enough to store any relevant information unfortunately.

That an website of an Itilian man who produces complete looms and instructions for most Itilian produced tractors at small money.

    I've found his stuff excellent

    Hi

I managed to get the fusebox all rewired and everything functioning.

    Thanks again for the help.

I need to change the flasher unit for the indicator lights but can't find it. I figured it was in the dash but couldn't find it.

It doesn't seem to be on the engine side of the bulkhead either.

Would you have any idea where it might be please and thank you

I'll take a look - might not be until weekend as it is at an out farm.

    Did the photos help?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 little dandy

    Yes

The photos helped me a lot thanks.

With the photos and the wiring diagram I was able to make sense of the different colour codes and guages.

I really appreciate what you have done

    Thank you

Outside cab, under engine over on left hand side.

    Legend.

I was looking for a 3 pin connector as I was sure it would be 3 pin as standard.

I came across that 6 pin connector and dismissed it based on my 3 pin theory.

I ordered a 3 pin flasher unit so I may go shopping again tomorrow.

The connector is there but the unit is missing.

    I can't thank you enough

I took photo of the front of it as I thought you'd need it for a replacement.

I how it is clear enough for you to read.

Would like to see how the partial restoration has worked out!

Will send pics in the next few days.

I have the engine running very well and most of the functions working like new.

It's back together now as I will not be doing the body work until after Xmas and I need to use through the winter to feed cattle.

Have you a loader for it or how are you feeding out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 little dandy

    A quickie loader.

I purchased the tractor with the loader already fitted.

Only a small number 12 dexter heifers, 10 in calf to feed out over winter so all will be perfectly adequate .

Registered organic farm. So no heavy machinery as we move the herd every day to stop them from tearing up the ground.

I work as a contract manager in construction and my wife also works full time

tractor is ideal as it barely marks the ground and yet still has enough guts to do what's needed.

Use ours for the same. Very capable loader tractor.

Just make sure that the oil coolers are kept clean as they air air cooled.

Another thing to watch for is the belts. The alternator belt broke once and took off the fan belt too which caused the temp to rise.

I put new belt on it last week when I had the front of it opened up.

    Hello,

Can somebody explain what are the fuses from service stop on? I do not understand meanings if them. Specially service stop, play button, 25A and 40A fuse?

    Thank you!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,593 ✭✭✭funkey_monkey

Hi @Max46 - I'm not sure. Hopefully some of the others can let you know.

If OP can't remember from the rewire maybe @FintanMcluskey or one of the others can work it out. I'd presume it would be semi standardised at least. @fintan

    Hi

I will send you the wiring diagram tomorrow.

It has all the symbols and components explained

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 little dandy

That's as far as I go with the restoration this year. She is all back together and ready for winter feeding. Have everything bar indicators working which I will tackle over the Christmas break.

Wire mixed up in the dash I think.

Do all the panels and respray next summer I hope.

Thanks for the very helpful and valued information you gave me @funky monkey.

    She's a tidy looking example

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,593 ✭✭✭funkey_monkey

Thanks for the pics. As hopeso says its a very tidy example. Wear well with it. What is the steel like up close? The bottom of the doors in ours are getting poor.

If you get it sorted out, a simple tractor like that will last a lifetime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 little dandy

Steel is bad in places. Especially the bottom of the doors and the back mudguards. I should be able to patch thought.

Did you get an answer to this - curious myself as to what the answer was.
