UPS for NUC

Hi Folks,

Using this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B13YLKKZ/ for home assistant and would like to have it running while the power is off.

Looks like it needs 12v @ 2 amps

Had a bad fire recently so obviously paranoid about Lithium Ion batteries etc.

What would people recommend?

Aside from Lithium Ion, you could have lead acid or nickel cadmium batteries. See here.

If you don't mind a question: what good is the NUC when everything else is without power?

There are small 12v UPS you can buy. The Eaton Mini UPS is often recommended for low power use cases.

However, would you be better served getting a larger UPS for a little more and cover more devices?

The above allows you to plug anything in and will cover more devices, for longer.

Sorry for the delay, very frustrating that you're not notified of responses to a post you create.

So the NUC isn't auto restarting and I'd prefer if it stayed out and if I need to turn off I do in a controlled way.
