    My oh doesn't go, or if he does it's just to show his face out of respect but then leaves asap. He isn't very social even with drink he wasnt. Even going out for a meal with a group of people is taxing on him, he gets bored easily. But for anyone that's more sociable maybe just chatting to other people, years ago people used to play games at parties or whatever now it's just people sitting around drinking, talking shite and the fooids usually crap lol so no one is missing much. If the people there aren't interesting to chat too what's the point really. If they are then that's a good thing, it keeps your mind off the drink, you get to know people and just be social.
