VW Jetta radio/touchscreen

Hi, the radio/media touchscreen on 2016 VW Jetta got damaged recently. Not really sure how (nothing visible) but it is constantly selecting options on bottom half of screen despite nothing touching it. Tried to clean it etc but it's now at the point that it's unusable so can't use Bluetooth for phone calls etc anymore. Is it possible to get 2nd hand units? Or is there generic models that are plug and play replacements? Thanks for any help

For an OEM look I’d suggest getting an RCD360 with Apple car play / Android Auto for around €300 or so.

Or you can get cheaper options for €100 or so which still look somewhat OEM but the software probably won’t be the best. Usually an old version of Android.

Thanks for the advice here, didn't see to much on ebay for '16 Jetta but contacted a company that has a presence there to see if they could help. For someone who wants Bluetooth for phone calls+ playing music, would the cheaper units do for that? I don't want Android Auto or things like that

It’s a minefield, even within the 330, there’s different types. There’s even a website/forum dedicated to picking the right variant!

As far I know, the ones without the AUX input at front are some cheap chinese fakes. Proper RCD330 have it. 360/330Plus/etc are fake names for radios based on RCD330 but with them You wont get any updates and the quality isnt the greates. The ones on Adverts are fakes, tend to fall apart after sometime. You can be lucky, but better check the forum.

It's it unusual for suppliers not to be able to confirm if their radios will/will not work with strong wheel controls? A couple have come back and said you will have to try it and see..

Main reason was that I was able to get it shipped from eu warehouse. Most other prices were around the same, and the seller was very responsive and helpful with any questions

None of them last.

As soon as there is a new version out the then the previous version is no longer supported.

I am happy with my Eonon unit. It has lasted 4 years at least and still going strong.

The original rcd330 or the Chinese fakes ones? In many places the 330plus/340/360/etc have very bad rep for poor lifetime. Plus correct me if I'm wrong but on the fake ones You can't install any updates if needed.

Chinese ones. Haven’t a clue about updates as I’ve never really had any issues with them over time.

Sometimes you get battery drain or issues with the reverse camera but this is just due to poor installation.

You should try Lotto in this case. When I was looking for way to display properly Asian fonts, replacing my radio with rcd330 with patch was one of the options. When I was looking around about them read a dozens of horror stories, like working only for couple of months, problem wth Carplay/Android, lack of support from seller/etc.

What sort of upgrades would you do? For the original unit I never did any updates. Don't think any were done as part of services as never used official garage

Custom language packs, some changes to ui. I like to listen to asian stuff, most of eu radios wont show fonts properly.
