Tyres and alloys getting very hot

I got 2 new front tyres on yesterday and they said the tracking was out as well so did that for me but by the time I got home with is about a 20 minute journey I thought I got a burning rubber smell and when I felt the tyre and alloys they were really hot.

This is bothering me because my commute to work in the morning takes nearly an hour.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Are they the right size wheels? Changing a tyre shouldn't do what you're describing. Maybe a seized bearing? Is it one wheel only?

Yeah they are the right size all right.

No its both front tyres.

I was thinking something along the lines of a stuck calliper also.

Are you feeling any drag when driving, like needing the accelerate a bit more to get up to and maintain speed.

A hot wheel is usually indicative of a stuck calliper, I don't understand how tracking would cause such a thing unless maybe it has extreme toe out and the fronts were just sliding forward.

I wasn't feeling any pull or grinding sound when I was driving.

I'll call in to the mechanic tomorow and get him to have a look at it.

What sort of roads were you driving on? Normal for tyres to heat up when driving. But if it's too hot to touch and you can smell burning, something is off. What make are the tyres?

Mix of motorway and country roads.

Took it out today for a 30 min drive and maybe it was the rain but wasn't that hot when I got back.

Shouldn't be hot at all. Usually if it's seized brakes it would be on one side only so maybe bearings.
