Tax Number of a Limited Company

Where would I find the tax number of a limited company, would I get it from the CRO?

While the Director provided me with a number, it was not the right one and it seems he is a bit clueless when it comes to these type of things, so I am wondering if there would be an easy option of getting the details rather than going back to the Director?

    No. Tax numbers aren't published.

If they gave you a VAT invoice, the VAT number is likely to be the same as the Corp Tax number, but this isn't guaranteed, and isn't the cost with a lot of older companies.

He's a farmer and isn't registered for VAT - he told me that a while ago

I wonder if I printed down his financial statements, I can get these online, even though there is a small cost involved. Would the financial statements have his tax number on them?

The abridged financial statements from the CRO will not have his tax number, don't waste your money or time with that

Only he will be able to give you the tax number for the company and as pointed out above it may be a different number under different tax heads (e.g. one for VAT, one for PAYE/CT)

You could maybe ask if he would get his accountant to contact you with the number if he is unclear himself
