This might be a good one for Dublin City aficionados.

For a night out, if one was a young person who wanted cocktails and the Hairy Lemon and the other was old and likes the Stags head, ODongoghue's or Toners or similar what would be a compromise? also want to get food and not get too hammered.

The Landmark or Jimmy Rabbittes maybe? Both do cocktails, both have the pub "vibes" but usually lively.

Cocktails, craft beer, decent Guinness, couple of quiet corners and a dancefloor.

Not overly expensive considering the location.
