If one joins a CE or Tus scheme, working 20 hrs per week or whatever it is...is the person left alone then for a year by the DSP etc? And can one leave the scheme if he or she has found full time work somewhere else?

Not quite, whilst you become an employee of said CE scheme you are no longer classified as unemployed and hence removed from job activation measures.

However, whilst on the scheme and if under the age of 55 you are required to engage in courses etc. DSP will engage with the CE scheme supervisor and you may be interviewed by them, whilst on the scheme.

You can of course leave the CE scheme subject to appropriate notice, if you find a full time job.
