    I totally agree that

“AI is no substitute for genuine journalism carried out by intelligent human beings paid a decent salary and enjoying proper working conditions”.

But at a minimum that raises a question about how much genuine journalism we see here.

They gave it a simple 1 line prompt and what it gave them back may as well have been the page number to the refugee definition. Then you've the lad quoted from the Journal "The article largely ignores the human dimension", it also ignored the question it was asked and was used by someone who obviously didn't know how to use it properly. Just vomiting up the Pablum.

Chatgpt is so handicapped at this stage it's not even useful for something like this. You used to be able to make it take position on something or write from the perspective of someone/side but they've added so many blocks it's pointless. Even then some of the others with less blocks will just give yes but no answers.

You've striking writers in the US using signs they state where written by ai and there's usually something wrong with it therefore justifying their job, but it only gives out based on what it's given and you've to steer it getting anything good but once you do you can crank out variants of that if needed. It stupid you've people trying to balance praising themselves with how irreplaceable they are while still demanding to be protected from something that isn't a real threat to them.

Think they would have coped on with the Irish Times fake story on fake tan.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

NUJ is finding out the hard way that it now has competition in its market for churnalism, algorithmic viewpoints and rent-an-opinion.

If they didn't have so many activists in their ranks I might have some sympathy...
