Bought a Merkur 42c 1904 Classic Razor recently. It's a closed comb razor and pretty dainty in size. Good looking razor.

Gotta say, it's mild as mild could be but still gives me a good shave. It almost feels like there's no blade in there at all sometimes.

I have a Merkur Progress and it seems milder that the Progress the lowest setting and milder than my Muhle R89 as well.

It would make a great beginner razor because it's extremely forgiving.
