Hard to know my top five, I've been to some great games in Thomond Park but I'd probably go with Leinster v Munster in Lansdowne Rd in 2006, Munster v Wasps Lansdowne Rd 2004, Ireland v England Croke Park, Ireland beating the ABs in the Aviva and Munster winning their second title in Cardiff

    1. Clermont vs Leinster, Bordeaux 2012
    2. Leinster vs Northampton, Cardiff 2011
    3. Scotland vs Ireland, Edinburgh 2015 (admittedly, this is more about the day in general than the specific match)
    4. Leinster vs Munster, Dublin 2009 (the 30-0 game :D )
    5. Leinster vs. Toulouse, Dublin 2011

France V Ireland, Six Nations 2000

Toulouse v Leinster, HC QF 2006

Ireland v France, Six Nations 2007 (even though we lost)

Leinster v Munster, HC SF 2009

Leinster v Northampton, HC final 2011

Worst? Not even close: Ireland v Argentina, RWC 2007.

In no particular order, 3 that come to mind. (Rather than clutter it with 2 more Leinster games. lol)

    • Leinster v Toulouse - 2011

    • New Zealand v France - 2015 (just because New Zealand were so awesome)

    • Ireland v England 2023, not a great match, but hard to deny the occasion

    1. Garryowen V Young Munster, Dooradoyle, Wednesday night back in the 90's (I was quite young so exactly when it happened I can't confirm) the atmosphere of 7,000 people wedged in there was absolutely electric - probably the game that started the journey
    2. Leinster v Munster in Lansdowne Rd in 2006
    3. Leinster v Munster, in Croke Park 2009 - Despite the result
    4. Munster V NZ in TP in 2008
    5. Munster V Wasps in LR in 2004

Munster New Zealand 2008 in TP

Nenagh Kilfeacle First all tipp Munster Junior Cup final 2000 in Thomond Park

Ireland v NZ in Aviva 2018

Shannon v Lansdowne AIL 1999 played in clanwilliam as thomond park unavailable. best club team when all the top players played ail in a junior club in front of 5000 or so was awesome.

    Munster v Leinster 2006

In terms of AIL, Mary’s v Young Munster was a cracker of a final. If I recall correctly, Brent Pope was sent off. Young Munster had an open top bus to celebrate and that bus ended up as a permanent feature in Clifford Park.

Not sure what you mean, 20% of them were Munster matches...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,835 ✭✭✭✭bilston

In chronological order (6 rather than 5)

Ireland v England 1993 (My first memories of Ireland beating England at pretty much anything, Mick Galway try to win it)

Ulster v Stade Francais 1999 (Semi Final Humph was on fire)

Ireland v England 2001 (Went in hoping we'd keep it under 40, ended up winning with Woody scoring from a lineout right in front of me)

Ireland v England 2007 (anyone who was there would surely have to include this)

Munster v Ulster 2012 (Gilroy try to knock Munster out at Thomond in the Q/F)

Ireland v New Zealand 2018 (First win in Dublin against NZ, magical try by Stockdale)

Jesus, narrowing it down to five is pretty though. In no particular order.

    The miracle match against Gloucester.

    The 2006 HEC semi final.

    The 2006 HEC final.

    The Sexton final in 2011.

The Munster V Northampton drop goal game.

And that's leaving out games like Munster V Wasps 2004 semi, the 2008 HEC final, Munster V Sale in TP in 2006, the Glasgow game the day after Foleys funeral and many others.

Never been to a big Ireland win, so none of those games I've been to on my list.
