Sealing solution inside Kitchen Island

We noticed that laminate flooring around our island in our kitchen was developing bumps. Turns out one of the pipes was leaking under the sink and the water was coming under the island and affecting the flooring. Plumber was out today and everything seems ok. My question is this, is there some solution to put inside the island or outside around the island to stop a potential leak in the future and to contain it?
