    Hi all,

As the post title suggests, I'm looking for some help and advice in relation to buying a property that has pyrite remedial works completed and apparently is certified pyrite free under pyrite resolution board. The property is in Dunboyne , in Dunboyne Castle estate being sold for full price as remediation works have been completed. I'm wondering what sort of survey should I get carried out myself and what could be the risks down the line. I have seen similar posts boards but they are somewhat dated so I'm just looking for recent advice. Any help greatly appreciated.

Firstly ask will the bank lend on it and can you get insurance.

    Why are the sellers selling?

What happens if it wasn't fixed properly who have you comeback against?

After that I'd find a similar estate that was fixed first and see if you know anybody who lives there see if they have had any problems and were they sorted.

Are there any offers on the house? I would expect it to affect the value, there is risk involved.

Once it's remediated and you have the cert to proof this I don't see a problem.

    Hi MTK2018,

I sold my house last year, had been pyrite remediated in 2019. Absolutely loved the house but we were just ready to upscale. Honestly, no issues with the house once it had been remediated and we had the green cert. It essentially is a new house. I personally, would have no problem buying a pyrite remediated house - and that is coming from someone who went through years of crap with pyrite!

Best of luck with your search and purchase
