Historical square meter costs

We are in the middle of working out Capital Gains Tax for the sale of my parents house. There was a business in part of the house at one stage so we need to work out the CGT.

The house was built in 1980 and there has been 4 extensions in the years 1991,93,94 and 97.

We know the size of each extension but we need to work out the approximate costs. We have no records we can get this from.

I have searched online but can't seem to find historical building costs by square meter.

Is there any database available for such a thing or way to calculate this for specific years?

    Any help is appreciated.
