I'm selling this as either the frameset on it's own or with any of the listed components up to the complete bike.

Frameset - Ellipse Integral C24T, integrated seatpost, full carbon tapered steerer, integrated cabling, no headset - €100

The finish and paintwork are all perfect except for one small scrape on seatstay and some behind cranks from the odd dropped chain.

    Two Issues -

1 - Frame was drilled by me to allow DI2 cabling. This has absolutely no affect on the integrity of the frame. If it bothers you look elsewhere. Holes are now fitted with rubber bungs or taped over. They're virtually invisible.

2 - Over the years dirt built up in the hole for the front brake bolt. I couldn't get the allen key to grip so brake can only be removed/fitted by turning the brake! Again if it bothers you look elsewhere.

The term "Pro Level" seems to annoy some people. It simply means that this frameset was used by the Sean Kelly An Post team for their race bikes. They considered it good enough for professional road racing.

If you're even remotely interested you should read this review from 2011 where they describe the non-integrated seatpost version as "one of the best test bikes we've tried this year" - https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/road-bikes/principia-rs-c24t-review/

Size is Large and should suit about 5'9" - 6'3"

Weight - 7.2kg (as pictured) built up, 1.8kg frameset incl. headset and integrated seatpost.

Seatpost is cut for my 6'1" but can take 30mm of spacers.

This frameset is simply too good not to be used so I'm flexible on price if it's going to someone who will actually use it.

    Crankset - Carbon Centaur 50-34 172.5 - €100

These are really good stiff light cranks. Brand new chainrings so should be good for 20k+. Frame is fitted with ultratorque cups which are press fit and would probably need to be professionally removed! Easier to stick with these. They work really well with Shimano shifting and look much better too. https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/components/groupsets/chainsets/centaur-ct-carbon-chainset-review/

    Shifting Groupset - Ultegra 6700 10-speed - €250

These are pristine, as new. No scratches on shifters or mechs. Just slight wear marks on inside of front cage from normal chain rub.

    Brakes - Ultegra 6700 - €50

These are well used and have some light scratches but are fitted with new pads and are working perfectly.

    Wheelset - Shimano RS80 C24 Carbon with Continental GP4000 II 25c tyres https://road.cc/content/review/1216-shimano-rs80-wheelset - €100

These are well used and could do with a service. Slightly off-true. Rim wear marks still visible as with tyres.

Finishing kit - Brand New Deda Zero Bar/stem and Bontrager saddle - €50

    Headset - Brand New FSA Orbit 1.125" - 1.5" tapered - €50

    New Bar Tape and Cables.

Photos don't do it justice. Bike can be seen in Foxrock, close to M50/N11

Sorry wpd, I'm on holidays and only saw this now. I'm back next week and will have a look at splitting then and let you know if that's OK. Bear in mind these wheels are well used! They're easily the weakest part of the entire package!

thanks for your reply and honesty i will wait and see i you are splitting so

Hi wpd, sorry again for the delay. I'm going to try this on adverts or donedeal for a few weeks and if it doesn't sell I'll probably split it all up then. Might even try and sell it with a tatty 105 groupset as 11-speed tat is much more popular than 10-speed quality. I'll keep you posted if you're still interested?

Price Drop to €50 for this frameset. Retailed back in the day for over 2k. Super light, stiff and comfortable - who said it couldn't be done! Five star review from Cycling Plus magazine.

Just make sure you read the ad. re the DI2 fitting and front brake mount.

Hi Paul 2 questions will frame work with manual groupset (cables) or only DI2 and does it come with forks and headset??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,216 ✭✭✭Paul Kiernan

    Hi wpd,

Yes, of course, it's currently set up with Ultegra 6700 ten speed as pictured. The three Di2 holes are fitted with bungs (head tube and seat tube) or taped over (chainstay - pictured). I do have a full 11 speed Di2 rim brake groupset if you're interested, though!.

Forks are included. It currently is fitted with a brand new headset that I bought for my own bike for €80. I'm reluctant to include with the frameset at asking price so I've listed it separately in the ad. above for €50. If it was a dealbreaker I can probably find a working headset for it.

I've had zero interest in this bike/frameset so I'm very close to giving up on selling it! I can certainly use the groupset and cranks myself. Those carbon UT cranks are the cat's pyjamas, streets ahead of Shimano! Are you still interested in the wheels?

I don't think you're too far away so you're welcome to drop over and have a look.

    Cheers, Paul

thanks Paul for answering my questions so comprehensively. I am looking to do bike for son who is 5 10 so size should work I am happy to give you €50 for the frame if you have an old headset to throw in to get it going. I am transfering groupset from other bike so was really looking just for frame. Might be interested in wheels but can discuss when collecting. Understand if you want to keep altogher and try and sell else where though, shame no interest for such a nice bike. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi wpd, that all sounds fine. Thanks. I'd be delighted to see somebody using it. It's a really good top quality frame and I've been baffled that people haven't been fighting over it! I'll PM for further discussion. Thanks again, Paul

    Hi

I might be interested in crankset. What would be your best price posted as I'm based in Sligo?

    Cheers

Hi, can you leave it with me for a few days until I've sorted everything out with wpd. I was mainly using it to help sell the bike and I might just end up keeping it but I'll let you know. Thanks, Paul

Hi, sorry again for delay but I think I'll just keep these cranks as I prefer them to Shimano and they have ceramic bearings attached which I'll never get off!

I do have some Shimano cranksets if you're interested? Ultegra 6700 in excellent condition and some 105's with the mandatory heel wear.

The frameset is now sold to wpd. Thanks and good luck with the build.

The rest of the stuff listed above (bar the crankset) still available at those prices.

The Ultegra shifting set is very much "as new" and frankly, once fitted, is going to look every bit as good as the 11 or 12 speed version!
