    My meter is going in reverse since installing panels will this be allowed to continue..??

    Yes, call them up and say you don't want a smart meter. With the smart meter you get the feed in price of 21 cents per kWh, with the old meter it goes backwards at your current tariff which is over 40 cents per kWh

    It won't be allowed indefinitely - ESB networks will try and get you to replace it with a Smart Meter. You can refuse of course. But eventually they will say your meter is "faulty" so must be replaced. They own the meter so there's only so much you can do to stop them. Hold off as long as you can.
