I'm a sole trader in construction and have a works van for my tools however I'm looking into buying a car as well for my business and looking into one from the north of Ireland. The price is 15500 sterling. I was wondering if I was to buy this, do I still need to pay the vrt on it at 8000euro or is this exempt since I'll be using it for my business.

There are no VRT exemptions for businesses

VRT seems unusually high for a €15k car, what are you looking at?
