You will not need a visa to enter the UK from Ireland as it is part of the Common Travel Area which allows freedom of movement between both countries.

I’m fairly sure that CTA only covers Irish and UK citizens, not just anyone travelling between Ireland and UK.

OP: read the official documentation: https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control/before-you-leave-for-the-uk

The OP says he’s from Prague, he won’t need a visa. Simple.

Yea bring the logbook and whatever documents you have, German police will ask for that if you are stopped for a check or anything.

I’ve driven across many times to eastern Slovakia, once through the Czech Rep, didn’t do that again due the road to BRNO :-P

prague is no bother as it’s not to far from Germany,

only thing I would recommend is go through the UK at night or late evening,

Night time driving is a lot easier than daytime, I used to chill during the day somewhere , get food or hotel during the day and do the driving in the evening and night.

high speeding fines in Belgium and the Uk nowadays,

if you are caught doing 100+ in the Uk it’s mandatory court appearance, if you are not resident there they will block your credit card for 6-700 Sterling and if you can’t do that they will hold you until you can appear before a court, so be careful there.

belgium , unmarked police cars on the motorway, graduated speeding fines there, the quicker you go the higher it is, if you can’t pay on the spot, they can seize the car.

Would it not be easier to get a ferry from Ireland to France (Cherbourg or Roscoff)

And drive France - Germany - Czechia.

xs appolo how much did the trip cost you in general ?

    Just on the travel side?

    600km Holyhead to Dover.

    1100km to Prague from Dover

250-300euro ferry from Ireland to Uk.

was usually between 100-150 Sterling for tunnel or ferry to Calais

so 2 tanks of fuel depending on the car, if you can stick to 120km/hr

you can burn a lot of fuel doing 160 km/hr for stretches in Germany.

the rest depends on yourself, if you plan on doing it one go or how many of ye there are if ye will be stopping for food and stuff or hotel or whatever.

if you are going from Calais or Dunkirk into Belgium then there are no tolls, no tolls in Belgium or Germany either, you will need a vignette for Czech as you know already I presume.

there is the M6 toll in Uk which is 6 pounds I think , but wether you need to do that or not depends , you don’t really need to use the toll road, but I would recommend it if you are going around Birmingham during the day

I can’t say how much it cost me as I did it many times with wife and kids in tow and I wasn’t really counting money, also east Slovakia nearly doubles the time and distance.

The other post above gives an idea of the cost of travel.
