What is this? (Videos in post)

It was taken from Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday 27th at around 10:30pm.

It had been happening for a while before I took the videos. It’s a pity they are not clear enough, because in real life it felt like the lights were going down and then vanishing.

I initially thought it was the ISS as it seems to have passed fairly close by at that time/location. But I’ve never seen the ISS look like that. So now I’m thinking SpaceX Starlink? But it’s quite unusual and doesn’t match other videos of it.

I didn’t really take enough to show the perspective but it was very high in the sky. I zoom out from time to time and you can see.

I have a strong suspicion it was flares. Saying that, there are a number of good videos showing evidence of unexplained lights from Brazil of late. Maybe this would be classed as one of them, maybe it would not. There's so many these days people don't even bother trying to work out what is real. Another point is that we are not 100% sure if these sightings are of our origin, or alien.

If you can create a hyper-sonic missile, why not a drone? why not a manned aircraft? (examples). Imagine all the spin-offs from such technology?

All the same, it's a good capture, and one I would also have taken video of. Well done.
