Breaking up with partner. What happens to our rental lease?

Anybody been in a similar situation?

I'm breaking up with the missus.

The idea is she'll stay in the rental and move a friend in, who will replace me and pay my part of the rent. Monthly transfers to the landlords bank account won't be affected.

The landlord won't have to do much hopefully, other than draw up a new contract.

My worry is the landlord might say feck this and kick us both out.

What's the best way to approach this?

The best way to approach it is to be honest and tell him what you wrote here exactly.

If ye have both been on the lease, and the rent has been paid on time, he should have no problem with it.

Closed as a pathetic troll attempt as per the other trend.
