Do most websites demand that you register before purchasing?

I wanted to buy something from backmarket.ie, but it's now forcing me to register an account before I buy. As you can see at the top it reads "open sesame. I'm signing up". But then even more strangley it says "get access to the goodest tech". That seems just like the sort of spelling mistake some Asian scammers would…
