Hey folks,

Where's a good place to buy a 2nd hand bike in Waterford. Not after anything fancy - just some cycling with the kids.

or else pop into spokes and just explain what you need they could have something there

i know rebike had a unit here for a while, but im unsure if its still going....

halfords do sell cheap bikes, but they are cheap for a reason, check out the shops above first, as sometimes you can get a great bargain, and sometimes a far better quality bike, and of course, you get to support local businesses....

Worth contacting the bike hire crowds for the greenway, they regularly sell off stock for very little.

O'Mahony's Cycles in Dungarvan is the only place I know of locally that do second hand stock.

No, its a different operation.

OP: most bike shops will usually have a small stock of second bikes, taken in as trade-ins, which will be decent quality and have some kind of warranty/aftersales back-up.

Better to buy a reputable secondhand bike than a chain-store boat-anchor/gate with wheels.

Adverts.ie bikes always going cheap i only sold a near new one for €300 was 800 last year they lose serious value immediately never buy new as you get pittings for it when selling trust me

didn't they hold their value during covid due to a shortage of new bikes in the shops because of supply chain etc? no harm in bringing the prices down.

they probably did to a degree, but the resale value has always been terrible, my own was 3k new, even though its a few years old now, and well used, id be lucky to get a couple of hundred for it....
