Rape of Nursing home resident

<snip> In the week, before Tubridy Gate kicked off, this incident was mentioned on RTE and Newstalk. The victim and her rapist were kept anonymous with made up names.. Now I've come across this article which claims the assailant was named in the Sunday World some time ago. Is the reason for the anonymity, the fear of stoking anti immigrant protests etc

It certainly isn't to protect the victim as she is deceased, why would the HSE and national broadcasters want to protect a convicted rapist?

I've just edited the OP to remove the link and deleted all replies

My understanding is the rapist is not named, and the nursing home is not identified, to protect other victims/residents. There is a Court Order preventing disclosure of either piece of information. Do not discuss this case in any other thread (and I need to have a look at some to delete any further commentary)
