Budget mountain bike for 12 year old

As the title says, I'm after a budget mtb for my daughter as I'm trying to get her into enjoying the trails. I have two in mind, one from decathlon and one from halfords pictured below. If she was to take it up and love it, obviously I'd buy her a proper bike, but not until I know for sure.

Any opinions on either? The carrera looks to be a more modern style hardtail compared to the decathlon bike but is a fair bit pricier.

just go second hand, if you don't like and the bike is still in good nick literally no money lost

either of those 2 bikes would be more than enough for a 12 year old beginner and more

the difference between the bikes in terms of design is minimal, after that price is mostly components

i would avoid halfords myself
