Before you get your pitchforks, hear me out here..

Got a fine in the mail there yesterday. 40e for parking opposite a white line in an estate in Portmarnock alongside about 10 other cars. Now normally fair enough, I know not to park opposite a continuous white line for safety etc. Except, the bloody white line existed maybe in 1980, and hasn't been painted since. Genuinely looking at it, you cannot tell if it's meant to be continuous or broken with the state it's in. I didn't even see the line full stop cause of the sun beaming down on the hottest day we've had this summer when I parked there. Have a look at the photo and tell me what you think? Is there any chance that will hold up in court?
