Hi all, My grandmother bought a laptop a few months ago and has not used it since until now, problem is she cant remember the password she entered and is now locked out, any advice what to do? thanks.

If she set it up linking it to her Microsoft account then you can reset the password to the account.

Otherwise if she set it up as a local account then you can try this method to reset the password.
