Language Teaching in Australia

I have been looking at different schools in Australia and it seems as if European languages do not feature prominently in their foreign language curriculums. I have seen French and Italian a few times, but Japanese, Chinese and Indonesian seem to be more popular. They also seem to emphasise indigenous languages more than foreign ones. Would it be correct to say that there are not too many opportunities for Irish MFL teachers in Australia?
