Hi all, I've been offered an unvented cylinder for a decent price is it a simple process to convert this to vented? Is it just a matter of maintaining the hot supply vented to the tank in the attic and not fitting an expansion vessel?

It should be OK as long as, also, you feed it from the cold water storage tank and not from the mains via a pressure reducing valve. You cannot use a Megaflo type with a air bubble in the top as these have a diaphragm. what make.model are you considering and how will you incorporate the excess solar?

It's a Joule 200 indirect cylinder with a single coil and immersion, the immersion is closer to the middle of the tank so should perform better than my 120l cylinder with a top entry immersion. I was thinking I could replicate what I've already done with the Willis too. It would be the biggest plumbing job I'd ever taken on though!
