Question about a car that is off the road for 3 years

    Hello All,

Can you please tell me what is the sequence for a car that is off the road for the past three years? It needs a new NCT and to be taxed but I am thinking of selling it on.

Which comes first - the NCT or the tax?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards,

If you are selling it doesn't need tax, the new owners can tax it without paying for 3 years assuming you never declared it off the road.

You will need to transport it to the NCT regardless as it's not legal to drive without an NCT, especially when it's expired for so long.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

The exemption is for tax and only if it was declared off the road, we don't know if the car was declared off the road.

The car has no NCT and there's limited exemptions for driving a car without an NCT, none of which the OP qualifies for.
