Custom built bikes show

Hi all.

During covid I got bored and built a stretched cruiser bicycle.

I was hoping there would be some kind of event somewhere in the country where people would gather with their custom bikes but I couldn't find anything. Even over bike week I didn't see any mention of a custom bike event.

Does such a community even exist here in Ireland?

Anyone know of any event or club or forum or anything where I could share my interest in unusual bikes?

Not a critical question, is it usable? The clearance from the ground looks fairly low?

It is limited to be sure. Roads only. Its only got an inch and a half maybe of ground clearance. Its fine on any road but you have to watch where two surfaces meet like my driveway or potholes because you will drag the bottom out of it. I had planned on putting larger wheels on it for better clearance but I couldn't find rims the right size anywhere.

Clearance issues aside is it comfortable to cycle it looks like it would be a very awkward pedalling angle.

It's a pretty cool little build though, I like how you've done the brake lever and is that a gear selector on the seat stay? Well done 👌

Before I built this I hadn't cycled in almost 8 years. I was expecting it to be an awful experience but genuinely this this is ridiculously comfortable. My very first cycle I went 15km without any discomfort of any kind.

In particular my back stays in a nice relaxed posture and the saddle is super padded. You wouldn't break any speed records but you could cycle all day on it.

It's very well done. It would be all the better with a springer front end on it but I could very easily see that being a fun beer/cafe bike.

God no. I bought it off a company in Germany.

I was going to get it made here (I work as a designer in an engineering company) but it worked out cheaper and faster to get it from Germany.

Semantics my guy. I didnt birth it thats for sure.

The frame came raw steel. It wasnt a pre assembled chassis.

Still looks a cool little bike but had you made it yourself it would've been really cool.
