Hello! I will be in Dublin, coming "up from the stix", this coming Friday, with 3 other musical friends. All of us are experienced trad players. We'd like to play somewhere in Dublin City Friday evening. Q1: Is there any such thing as a pub that does-not-necessarily-have-a-session, but welcomes musicians to just come in and start playing? [Such places exist still down the stix :) ). We do not want to play at mega-tourist-famous sessions Cobblesones-or-ODonoghues etc., and in fact probably do not want to play anywhere near the center. Where is a good session in the suburbs on a Friday? Failing an answer to Q1 - we're happy to "join in" with other musicians if they are happy to welcome us. We play instruments. Not interested in miked-up, or mostly-singing sessions. Thanks in advance for any tips!
