    Hi all,

had no hot water in kitchen, so presumed it was an air pocket and blocked the tap and turned on cold and hot tap to force air block through. It worked - but then there was no cold water anywhere (toilet cisterns not refilling either) but the hot water was fine. Used a hose on the cold tap to try and force the air block out of the cold system and it worked … all cold and hot taps worked. Five minutes later everything stoped working..

so I’m now without any water in any of the taps , the cisterns aren’t refilling but the tank in the attic is full. Only tap working us outside garden tap

any advice would be very much appreciated

    please advise

Woke up this morning and after having no working taps in the house I turned on the utility room hot tap which has some running water and forced water back up the mixer tap with the cold water open. All taps in the house then start working.

this last for about 5 mins and then all taps in the house stoped working again.

I’m now at the stage where no taps are working in the house again apart from the drinking water tap which is plumbed from outside like the external garden tap.

water tank in attic is full.

again any advice would be appreciated

    thanks

Do you believe the attic tank became empty at some point recently to cause such an airlock?

If it is an airlock, typically what you did would be sufficient to displace it. You may need to do that for at least 30secs with all other taps closed (and toilet cisterns filled) to force water all the way up into the attic tank.

Yeah… tried the techniques with the taps turned off and it seems to have worked.
