Decking care - advice needed

I had kiln dried timber decking fitted exactly 3 years ago. The carpenter advised me not to treat it in any way just leave it bare . It is starting to crumble and crack in places now and I’m wondering if there is anything I can do to prolong its life.? I would have no problem cleaning and oiling it every year as it’s only 16m2 . At the very least it needs a good power wash

I like the natural colour it’s kind of silvering with age however it’s very dry and noticeably ageing already

    Any advice is much appreciated

    thanks !

It'd be wearing much better if it wasn't installed upside down 😀

If it's not slippery when wet I'd just leave it be for now. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of moss or algae.

Do exactly what you've suggested yourself OP. I would never advise to leave a deck untreated, it will just rot away eventually.
