Pop from socket

I just replaced a double wall socket & I am getting a pop every time I turn it on. Is it faulty ? I assume the pop is arcing ?

A pop from what, the switch or a connected load? If it still happens with nothing attached then you have some electrical issue... tricky to say from a distance.

It was from the switch but it has stopped now. Maybe a switch not closing perfectly but is now.
