National school defibrillator

I'm in the boards of management of a small national school and autism unit we are just setting out to fundraise and purchase a defibrillator

Any one recommend a defibrillator suitable for children and adults ??

It's going outdoors in some kind of cabinet is there much maintenance in a defibrillator??

Hi the PA of our school did a fundraiser and purchased one. The defibrillator has to be suitable for both adults and children and have a paediatric switch. The pads can be used on both.

It has a 5 year battery life and the only maintenance should be if its faulty or you need to replace the pads after use.

We got an outside box with a pin and also paid for training which is a 3 hour course.

You will need to speak to the schools insurance company about covering it and liability for it. We ran in to a few issues there where they were refusing to cover it but it got sorted in the end.

samaritan pad 350p is a good choice. At lower end of price, pad and battery are one unit and have 5 year life pan. If used the company will give you a free replacement pad / battery pack if you give them the data from the machine to aid in development
