Is there a set timeframe by which Local Authorities must respond to constituent requests/queries

Anyone know if there are any written guidelines re this? Reason for asking is that my Local Planning Enforcement Dept (PED) do not acknowledge - never mind answer - my requests and the council CEO just kicks my complaints back to PED

Check their customer charter for response times. Issue a written complaint regarding timeliness, then escalate to Ombudsman

Cheers, Z. Have already written a letter to the Ombudsman. Just waiting to send it when the deadline for replies has passed which since I wrote to them six weeks ago (without receiving either an acknowledgement or answer) has probably long gone

Is your query in relation to someone else's development? (hence the Planning Enforcement Section?)

They may not be able to reply if it would involve releasing someone else's information / GDPR.

But surely they should notify you to explain they couldn’t reply because of data privacy, etc
