    Hi,

My car will be 10 years old in September 2023. It was first registered on 10th September 2013.

It has an nct till 31st january 2024..

If I get the nct done before 10th september 2023,(its 9 year old at that point) it is given a 2 year cert from date of test, is that correct?

    Thanks.

You must do it more than 3 months before the 10th of September

Yes passed before it's 9years and 9 months old then the renewal date will be 2 years from the date of test

Basically it's already too late unless done today

You must do it more than 90 days before it's due date. I use an online calculator to figure out when is best. You then get a 2 year NCT from that test date, so not really 2 years but 10 years + 2 years - 90 days , so until car is 11 & 3/4 years old.

I'm afraid it looks like you are too late, unless you could ring and get a cancellation over the weekend.
