    Hi there,

I have 2 ornamental crab apples (prett sure) and expected the leaves to be flourishing more. Any idea what the issue might be? Does it need a good pruning? We’re only in the house 6 months so I haven’t seen a full year of how it grows.

You would need to examine the tree quite closely to see if there is a problem. Its very hard to tell from the pictures exactly what the problem could be. It could be just that it is getting aged, there might be poor irrigation or it may have some sort of pest or disease. Maybe if you photographed a part of a branch against a plain background it might be easier to see.
