My teenage daughter is in Italy on a school trip and her inhaler has run out. Can one be bought over the counter?

They sell Salbutamol otc in Italian pharmacies for about €5, I think that’s their equivalent of Ventolin.

If she can get to a chemist, explain the problem & speak to a pharmacist (they often open later hours than here) they’ll most likely suggest a good alternative inhaler if they don’t use Ventolin over there. Tell her to bring her empty inhaler with her.

Salbutamol is the generic name for Ventolin. The dose per puff is probably the same but should be checked.

Any asthmatic using a blue inhaler on a regular basis needs to talk to their doc about preventive treatment tbh.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.
