SDZ and extension as non exempted development

    Pardon my gross ignorance on this one, please.

    Do SDZs overrule the standard exempted development status of max 40 sq.m rear extension with at least 25 sq.m rear garden and etc etc?

    As far as I am aware, not directly. Developments within a SDZ still get planning permission, and it would/should be specified in the permission for the specific development whether further exempt development works/extensions are permitted or not.
