Our Kitchen Island has a wooden countertop which has become very sticky to touch. Possibly from Kitchen wipes

Any tips on how to restore it to remove the sticky feeling

What was it sealed with, do you know? If it was polyurethane varnish or an oil then perhaps it has degraded. For cleaning it off, you would need to try scrape it first and then white-spirits and then a suitable food-safe finish to re-seal it.

Oil I think but not 100% on that

    Thanks for the advice

I'd probably start with something relatively gentle like sugar soap and a scouring sponge.
