Missing a lot of freesat channels since the Coronation

I have 2 Manhatton freesat boxes one in each room and both with their own cables but both have lost these freesat channels and despite a rescan / retune I can't get them back. This is the message I got,

    MAIN FREESAT TRANSPONDER NOT FOUND

Most likely due to a signal issue

    or possible freesat technical fault

Post code entry for Reginal Channels will be skipped.

Channels may be missing and the guide will update slowly

    178 channels found.

None of the missing channels were found.

Is there any way of getting them back in the short term,

Miss talking pictures, sky news and bbc news and gp's behind closed doors for example, don't laugh😉

Anyone else loose freesat channels recently ??

If you have the same problem on both boxes, I'd be looking at the dish to see if it has moved. Rusty fixings or parts can sag. A few millimetres is all it takes to upset it. Another thing to check is that there are no bushes or trees growing in front of the dish blocking its view of the sky.

Did you kick the dish in disgust at the display of opulence by any chance?

Yeah, this is going to be dish alignment or possibly, but unlikely, LNB failure (two ports would rarely both fail like that but it can happen)

Just to add to Gerry's post, could also be a faulty lnb on the dish arm, the connection for both boxes at the dish. The lnb can fully or partially fail.

Common fault is the plastic feedhorn cover cracks and allows water ingress that can damage the internal electronics.

    Hi,

I have an issue where, since the change in frequency, I've lost loads of channels, BBC's the only ones I care about.

LG Smart TV (lg lh590v), about 5/6 yrs old. All was perfect until then.

Have retuned and readded transponders but no joy. (I nearly have them off to memory at this stage🤣)

I do get ITV's, Ch4, etc. etc. so I'm thinking not alignment issue, as they are all off the same satellite???

Bought an Ariva 255s Combo receiver yesterday, up at crack of dawn today before kids to get it sorted. Nope. Exactly same channels coming in and still no BBC's.

Any ideas? There is nothing blocking the dish. Dish and LNB about 10 yrs old. Was thinking this is the issue but if so, how to I get ITV etc?

Any ideas very welcome as my head is totally fried at this stage with it.

How is the signal for the channels you're receiving?

On the Ariva are you doing a full blind scan of the satellite? This should find any missing transponders provided the signal is good.

As the fault is common to both receiver's I would be looking at the dish alignment and LNB. LNBs can partially fail causing issues like this.

I was thinking that it was a dish issue all right and will get someone out to check it over.

Thanks for your advice guys much appreciated.

Turned out the lnb was swoolen and full of water but all sorted now.🔨
