    Hi Lads/Ladies,

Organising a stag for the brother in Killaloe, he'll be the third of us to do so. We're all a bit older now so happy to sit in a pub have a few pints etc.

Was thinking of doing a mystery tour type thing and just get a bus to drive us to a couple of towns/villages nearby for one or two before coming back.

Any recommendations for decent pubs within a few miles of Killaloe? Thinking maybe up to Scariff and looping around that way.

    Nice one.

Peppers in Feakle, Jacko’s in Scariff, Nuala’a in Tuamgraney, Cobblers in Boydke, All nice pubs - The Pipers in Ogonnelloe, near Killaloe will be full of people eating so depends on the night really.

    That's brilliant thanks very much.

    Thinking:

    • Ogonnelloe (The Pipers)
    • Tuamgraney (Nuala’s)
    • Scarriff (Jacko's)
    • Bodyke (Cobblers)
    • Knockbrack ??
    • Broadford ??
    • Kilbane ??

Could maybe do in reverse and get grub in the pipers?

    Any recommendations for coach hire?

Sounds good. I haven’t been in a pub in Broadford or Kilbane so I can’t recommend. Nice villages though. The shop with the petrol pumps in Broadford does great food though. Cakes/ deli / meals to take away. Hidden gem. More familiar with north east Clare. You’d probably be better off getting a bus hire from Killaloe if that’s where you’re staying.

    Scarriff, Macnamaras.

    Great food there too.

Had planned to do a similar itinerary aswell.

Stayed in Macnamaras for 6 hours.

So to give anyone following this an update.

    • Ogonnelloe (The Pipers) - Savage spot but I think 15 lads scared them, essentially hidden away in the back / smoking area (can't blame them to be honest)
    • Tuamgraney (Nuala’s) - This won hands down, sound out, baskets of chips and sausages (not doused in salt), happy out with us there. Brilliant.
    • Scarriff (Jacko's) - Probably the most traditional pub, would be a good spot to go and stay for the day, dark, cozy. Not sure if the locals were too fond of 15 lads coming in taking over but we were only there for two.
    • Killaloe (Reddans) - Our anchor pub, ended up starting there and back there, can't beat it, tasty pints, good crowd.

I doubt groups of lads scared them in the Pipers! Very common spot for team night outs for GAA teams around there!!
