    Afternoon all.

Could've sworn there was a Car Detailing forum, but I can't find it!

After years of having a white car, I now have a black car that I'm looking to get all sparkly.

Can someone recommend me a good polisher (something that won't break my heart), as well as pads and product?

    Sound.

Edit: Would something like this do, or is it overkill (the fact it's currently reduced is appealing!)? Will any pad fit any machine?

I'd recommend something like this. As for pads, it's been a while since so I'm not sure on what's what these days but I used Chemical Guys hexlogic pads and found them decent. You'll probably need at least 2 and I'd recommend getting a couple of different combinations (maybe a medium cut, and different finishing pads) and work from the least aggressive combination up until you get the results you're looking for.

You'll also need polish - I've used Menzerna, Scholls S20 and CarPro (I believe it was Fixer) and got on well with Scholls and CarPro (both billed as a 'one step' product)

DAS 6 always got a lot of love here and on Detailing World. Autopia have it on offer at the moment

The Detailing and other dead as dodos sub forums were merged back into the main forum a few months ago so you weren’t imagining thing 🙂
