Dry Verge system in mortal worth it?

Been priced around 800eur to do the sides and front with dry verge nailed to existing mortal (I guess). The mortal is in okish condition, maybe need some pointing in places.

What are peoples' thoughts in dry verge? Does the colour face? Does it stain? Durable?

    Cheers.

I dont know if it is worth it, but personally I dont like dry verges. In some cases, they are subject to damage in the wind. I live in a high wind area and it seems to generate noise as wind enters and causes the modern felt to flap around and its very audible. I think this would not happen so much if you had heavy old felt. But builders wont want to do a wet verge. Too much craft involved.
