    Hi guys,

Just bought a new house that came with all the white goods.

The dishwasher and washing machine haven't been used since maybe October.

Any tips on what to do to steralise/clean get them ready for use again?

    Information is scant online.

I saw someone say to run the washing machine on its warmest setting.

Easy option - run both on the hottest setting with good detergent in both (bio detergent for the washing machine)

Option with buying stuff - get dishwasher cleaner and washing machine cleaner in a supermarket - they are common products, dishwasher cleaner more common than washing machine but I think Lidl, Tesco etc sell both - and run as per instructions, which is likely to just be "run with this in at the hottest setting"

But first make sure that they are actually still connected to their inlet and drain pipes!

White vinegar in the washing machine on the hottest cycle. Same craic with the dishwasher, put a bowl of vinegar in the top rack and run in the hottest cycle.
