baby with small lens

    Hi all


    My gran niece - now 4 months old has a small lens in one eye, and a cataract on this small lens. Wondering if anyone has any experience/ knowledge/opinion re same. Parents of baby living in west of Ireland. One of the dilemmas they are considering is ' do we try to get the necessary care in Ireland, or should we go outside the country' ?

    The baby seems to be healthy otherwise.

    I would be grateful for any help on this.
