Help identify a deck part. 1st Gen Honda 2417

Hi folks....I'm not in this neck of the woods that often, so if this should be in the large lawnmower thread please go ahead and move it. I figured it might get more traction on its own.

1st Gen Honda 2417. I believe it's 2006.. Can someone help identify this part please? It goes from the frame under the engine to the deck. This is the right hand side.

I've sheared mine on the left hand side, as can be seen below. A plate welded on might get me out of the woods for the time being but I would rather replace, as it's been welded before (before my ownership)

If I could find a part number even better. 40" deck...have heard they're the same as castlegarden decks anyone know if there's truth in that?

Wow, that's an interesting break at the weld. Both mine went albeit on the threaded rod part. I never liked the design of these parts as they appear to hold at least some of the weight of the deck on a threaded rod, which doesn't seem wise.

The parts are called deck connecting rods or fulcrum levers. I went back through my mail and it looks like a lot of places don't seem as many Honda parts as before.

The part number I have from my emails is: 80548VK1003 but I cannot tell you whether that is right side (if you are sitting on the mower) or left side.

I bought my replacements from Lings Honda Parts in the UK but their site seems to have changed for the worse and is trickier to navigate with few pictures.

Looks like the right side is out of stock on the mowerpartsales site but you should be able to google the model numbers.

As always and perhaps obviously, i'd advise you triple check compatibility, and ring the company if necessary. Also be advised that both my levers failed within a short period of time of each other. Might have been coincidence but as mentioned I dont think much of the design, so you might want to get both and be done with it.

Also from memory, make a note of where the nuts sit on the threaded part as it affects the alignment of the deck. Ideally you might want to re-align the deck as part of the job.

Yes, its sheared right on the weld where it was repaired before. Interesting what you say about it affecting deck alignment....seeing as this one has been repaired before, I would guess alignment would have been out a little and was stressing the repair. It also means I'm probobly better off replacing both sides with a proper part rather than welding a plate or fabricating a piece.

I'd appreciate the workshop manual, please!
