    Hi there,

Just looking for travel tips as I'm heading off on a city break to Gdansk in June on a photography trip. Has anyone been and any recommendations? I believe the WW2 museum and Westerplatte peninsula are worth checking out too.

First time to Poland as well.

    Cheers

The European Solidarity Centre is well worth visiting.

Make sure to see the Amber Altar in St. Bridget's Church (note: only place we encountered that was cash only).

Also did the Black Pearl Ship river cruise which was good fun. Food and drinks are sold on board and there was live music on the way back. There is an option to break the journey in Westerplatte.

Consider a trip to Sopot some day, roughly 20 minutes north of Gdansk by train.

A nice seaside town, albeit a little expensive by Polish standards. From a photography point of view, you'd have a lighthouse unlike any you'd see here, the longest wooden pier in Europe (doesn't sound hugely exciting, but figuring out best way to capture it might an interesting photo project), and a building in the town centre called The Crooked House, where any photo at all will look like it's already been through the warp function in Photoshop, several times over!
